This comes after leaders of the UK, France and Germany all called on Iran not to attack Israel in retaliation in a joint statement.
The statement read: “They will bear responsibility for actions that jeopardize this opportunity for peace and stability.”
It’s believed that US officials are on “high alert” for possible retaliatory attacks from Iran and Hezbollah following recent killings, prompting the US to strengthen its military presence in the region.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that retaliation will act as a “way to stop crime”, insisting that it’s Iran’s “legal right”.
