Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday said the formation of a Palestinian state was \u201cthe only pathway\u201d toward security and stability in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
Prince Faisal was speaking at the Munich Security Conference and added that Israel\u2019s security and stability was also dependent\u00a0on the establishment of a state of Palestine.<\/p>\n
He said the Kingdom\u2019s focus\u00a0was fully on securing a ceasefire\u00a0in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are focused on a ceasefire and on an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and we are focused on humanitarian access for the people of Gaza,\u201d Prince Faisal\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
Saudi Arabia has repeatedly stated it would not open diplomatic relations with Israel unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized.<\/p>\n
Prince Faisal also said that provocative\u00a0actions carried out by\u00a0Israeli\u00a0forces would\u00a0inflame feelings in Arab and Islamic nations, especially with the death toll in Gaza approaching 30,000.
