Bangladesh was shaken today by an assassination attempt on Sharif Osman Hadi, the prominent July Revolution leader and one of the most vocal critics of India’s influence in the region.
Hadi, known for his uncompromising stance against India and his leading role in ousting former Prime Minister and dictator Sheikh Hasina—who is currently taking shelter in India—survived the attack but remains in critical condition.
Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, along with several advisers of the interim government and senior political party leaders, strongly condemned the attack, calling it a direct assault on Bangladesh’s sovereignty. They vowed to ensure the highest punishment for those responsible and urged the nation to remain united against any attempts to destabilize the country.
